BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Boerne Aquaplex is led by an independent board of directors composed of passionate parents and highly respected professionals from multiple industries. We plan to add at least one self-advocate as a full voting member. The board of directors is supported and enhanced through consultants and advisors with recognized expertise in areas specific to the mission of Boerne Aquaplex.
Glen Boehm, Director
Glen is a CCIM, GRI, Texas Real Estate Broker and founding member of Keller Williams Realty Boerne Hill Country office, The Boehm Team of Keller Williams Realty and ultimately Boehm Commercial Group of Keller Williams Commercial.
Ryan Leininger, Treasurer
Ryan is a real estate agent with 20+ years in the real estate business. He is father to daughter Kendall who served for years as a unified partner to Boerne Blaze Special Olympics and is an accomplished triathlete with the Liberty University triathlon club.
Sherri Cox, Director
Sherri Cox is a retired teacher with 30 years of experience in education where she worked as a classroom teacher, coach and educational diagnostician. Water safety and swim instruction have always been a huge focal point for Sherri.
Dr. Thomas Price, Director
Dr. Thomas Price has been an administrative leader in education for more than thirty-five years, and served most recently as Superintendent of Boerne ISD until his retirement in 2023.
Sybel Lopez-Pici, Director
Sybel Lopez-Pici is a seasoned business leader, former senior corporate executive, and retired multi-restaurant franchise owner whose 45-year career has spanned sales leadership, entrepreneurship, workforce development, organizational governance, and community impact across San Antonio and South Texas. Today, she continues to repurpose her expertise through mentoring, leadership development, strategic planning, team building, and public speaking engagements.
Kathy veen
Kathy has been in the aquatic industry for 40 years starting as an undergraduate Student Athlete, Rec Sports employee at Sam Houston State and later moving to a Graduate Assistant position at University of North Texas. While in the DFW area, she also worked for GTE Place corporate aquatic program. Kathy was the original Aquatic Director for Memorial Athletic Club and Aquatic Center in May 1989 and guided a team of 60+ employees. She coordinated schedules for 25 unique user groups each week. One highlight of her MAC career was the design and development of their indoor aquatic center that opened May 1999 serving 500+ members and guests daily.
John Stone, President
John is a retired oil and gas industry executive after working 47 years, mostly for international companies. He is husband to Darla and father to four children including Rebecca, a highly accomplished Boerne Blaze Special Olympics athlete.
